Programmer did not work
The programmer did not work on a 2005 Avalon but youtube videos of some others showing the door opening and closing when the key is used putting the car in the correct order In programming mode and simultaneously pressing lock/unlock followed by unlock worked. Done in 2 minutes after spending 15 minutes trying to get the included programmer to work. Fob works fine.
