Review on ⚾️ TOFL Softball and Baseball Glove Lace Kit: Repair Your Catchers Glove with 2 Leather Laces and Lacing Needle by Larry Simpson

Good set at a good price

Had to fix my old glove so I could teach my son to catch and throw. Bought this TOFL kit and a Rawlings kit. I prefer TOFL and here's why. The TOFL kit includes 2 leather strips that are 72 inches long. The Rawlings kit includes one. TOFL skin is more elastic and thicker, about 1/8 inch or about 3 mm. Rawlings are slightly thinner and slightly stiffer. I could use Rawlings for heel wraps or palm lacing, but TOFL is better for toes. What I can say is that for my Rawlings glove, which is a simple 11.5" pocket piece by Mike Schmidt from the 70's, two 72" strips weren't enough to comfortably lace up the entire lacing on the glove substitute. You can do fingers, a palm and just get by with heel lacing. But not the thumb, pinky and wrist strap. These are nodes that consume a lot of material. So I had to buy another TOFL kit. I like the TOFL needle better than the Rawlings threader. The Rawlings Needle Threader is suitable for lace holes where only one point goes through, but not for holes where two points separate. I will say that the needle loses plug almost every time you thread it, but if you have pliers handy, no problem. It may also be that I don't know how to thread the skin onto a needle. Definitely recommend this kit. Also, recommend a YouTube video if you're not sure what you're going to do.
