Great little scanner

This is a great little scanner for the money. Very compact and light. Fast and accurate scanning. The program is high quality and easy to use. When scanning documents, this is a one-click process. Color copy is good too. (See Editing) This works well for archiving photos. I scan schematics and it captures fine lines very well. Only the durability is not yet known. I've been using it for less than a month but so far so good. I've been using flatbed scanners since the 80's so I have a point of…

Great for mobile use, but you get what you pay for.

I've had this scanner for a number of years and it does exactly what I bought it for - an inexpensive portable scanner for when I want to scan books from the library or at an office desk where I'm a bit odd Reason, there is no scanner or anything when I'm not working at my main workstation. And it does a great job as a grab-and-go scanner! It fits in a backpack, is powered by a single USB cable, and runs plug-and-play on Windows. Macs can be a bit temperamental, but installing the latest driver

Excellent value for money

This was my first scanner purchase in over 10 years. Scanners have come a long way and I was amazed at how much you can get for so little money with this device. Contact Revain or the Canon website for specifications. It comes in a small box with a USB cable and start guide/software on a CD. Instead of downloading software from a CD and doing updates, I just went to the Canon website and found the latest software and drivers for my devices. I got up and ran in less than 5 minutes. The software…

Great performance at such a low price

I am very happy with this scanner. It was easy to set up. The software is very easy to install on a Windows 7 laptop. The software is not intuitive, but after reading the manual you should be able to navigate it easily. It is powered by a USB cable, which is very convenient. Be sure to install the PC software BEFORE connecting the scanner to the PC. I got up and started scanning after about 10 minutes. I bought this scanner mainly to scan about 1000 photos. I think the scanner did a great job…

5 stars because of the TOP price for quality

I need to scan about 15-20,000 printed photos to bring them into the present and share them more easily with family. I didn't want to spend a lot of money on something I could make myself (I wouldn't do 35mm, don't you dare lol). recorded for 2 at a time). at 600 dpi. It takes exactly 32 seconds to create a 4x6 image. Of course, I don't count the seconds it takes me to lift and put the lid down. It's good that I have LOTS of free time (at 20 years old with back surgery and so in the summer I…

Excellent value for a low volume scanner

I needed an inexpensive scanner that I could use a few times a month in my home office and this was just what I needed . The speed isn't bad, the quality is good, the software is no worse than any other scanner I've used, it works without a power adapter. A note. Don't lose the included USB cable, it doesn't work for me with a 3rd party cable but other than that it's a good buy. It sits on a shelf and connects when needed, and I've had no issues with it.

Great images, but absolutely clunky and least intuitive.

YOU WILL BE EXCUSED! Great images, but the clunkiest and least intuitive interface and menu imaginable. I'm reasonably intelligent, a college graduate, US Air Force trained, technically competent, and have an FAA pilot's certificate. I can program the remote control, program the GPS, program the flight control system, and make bacon and toast all at the same time. But the person who designed the user interface stayed up many nights trying to find the least obvious way to organize functions in a

Works well for the price

If you need a decent scanner for occasional use, this one will do. I particularly like the fact that no power cord is required. The supplied USB cable is used for both power and data transmission. It's also very convenient if you need to take the scanner with you, since you have one less cable to manage. The image quality is very good and the software automatically scans to a multi-page PDF if you scan one at a time. It can also scan to standard image formats, including TIFF, which is good if…

Great everyday scanner

This is the perfect laptop scanner. It is very small and does not require a separate power supply. I keep mine under my desk and only take them out when I need them. So it doesn't always just take up valuable desk space. When I need to use it, all I have to do is plug it into a USB port on my computer and it's ready to go! You can do many things with this scanner and Canon software. I mainly use it for scanning documents to PDF as well as scanning color photo prints. As a PDF creator, this…

The Mac user was about to return it. (But I threw the box away)

Made cheaply - consistent noise. BUT, it just didn't work. I keep getting the error "Unblock". Completely reinstalled the software. more "unlock" errors. What you weren't told is that it must be connected directly to your Mac. .in my case iMac. There are so few USB ports that I have 5 USB subports with no power. to connect most devices. The scanner was not receiving enough power. Most modern devices will show you this on the screen; "There is not enough power to operate this device." After…
