Nice lens. Nicely built, a bit big but not as fancy as the A6000. I like the internal focus and zoom. Makes you feel like you're shooting high-end glass. Fairly clear recordings, maybe not as clear as the Zeiss alternative I've heard but clear enough. It also has quite a creamy bokeh for F4. There's definitely that "something" about a lens that's hard to define, but it separates your favorite lens from the one you leave in your bag. You'll hear about the horrific distortion of this lens, but you'll never see it when shooting in JPEG format. or use Lightroom as both have the distortion profile of that lens. That might be a little disappointing, but it's unlikely to affect most people. There's really only one downside to this lens: it's the F4. It's a bit of a shame to pay $5-700 for a zoom that only works on the F4. If you don't shoot much indoors you'll never find this an issue, but most of us see it and I've found it degrades image quality, forcing me to either shoot a stop or two slower or a higher ISO to use . . Olympus, Panasonic and Nikon have good F2.8 zooms on the market, why doesn't Sony have them? I'm sure Canon is probably doing the same. Unfortunately, low light photographers will have to use Sony Primes or live with blurry/grainy shots. Despite these shortcomings, I really liked this lens. The lens was too slow for me, but otherwise I liked it and unfortunately I sent it back. Without a doubt, this lens is ideal for those who live in a bright and sunny place.
