I bought these on a whim as I was planning on making homemade ice cream with my grandkids and being able to make and store different flavors. You are perfect! I hate plastic containers in the freezer. I have trouble opening them and being cheaper plastic they break when you try to open them. These were easy to open. There are holes in the upper part, but they have a layer between the outside and inside. So basically it's a 3-layer upper and the middle layer has no holes. If the "kids" accidentally make a mess on top of the rim of the container, close the lid and put it in the freezer, you can still open the box without destroying it. Container. The bad news (bad for the character) is that I managed to find a really great ice cream recipe that's very easy and I've made a lot of it. Now I need to buy more containers. I'm also thinking about using them for applesauce, which we'll be making in about a week. I think they should be fine now; eat now or freeze and eat later.
