So you installed your own deck and it's either missing the red plug wire or it's not providing the full 12 volts? well you need it An alternative is to run a new wire from the fuse box in the cab or the air conditioner. Personally, I'd rather just connect the wires to the radio and you're done. This worked on my 2004 Chevy Silverado 1500 double cab without the Bose system. I skipped the steering wheel control wires and it still works.
