I like the lock. I wanted to install it in the bottom drawer of my bedside table, I didn't even try to install it in the top drawer. I also removed the top drawer so I can see what I'm doing. I have a bedside table with space above the drawer, it is not flush, this lock is perfect for that. So I had to modify it a bit to make it work for me. First I installed the battery box in the drawer, making sure I set it as high as possible while clearing the horizontal drawer support beam that separates the top and bottom drawers so the drawer still closes. Second, I screwed it in, one screw worked fine, it was attached to the side of the drawer. Third, I added a mounting tab to the battery compartment so I could see where it would mount on the wooden brace I was planning to install to hold it. I used 1x1 and cut a corner on either side to sit flush against the side of the nightstand and in front under the top drawer. With the drawer closed (and the mounting tab in the battery compartment) I could see how far back the mounting tab should be placed on my 1x1 wooden bar. I cut the corner for the side of the nightstand leg and then went back and measured before cutting the corner for the front to make sure I got the right length AND (most importantly) that the wooden leg goes RIGHT over the top of the leg Closure loop, you have to turn it! There is some leeway here. With the battery compartment installed and the mounting tab inserted into the battery compartment and protruding from where it needs to be secured, I pretty much rested the 1x1 prop on top of the mounting tab, making sure it would line up with both the front and rear flush with the page is the case. bedside table. I then held the mount and attachment loop with one hand while opening the card drawer. I fiddled with it a few times to make sure it opens and closes smoothly while holding the bracket and hinge in place. I marked in the box where the support was. I then lifted the brace with the locking tab in place. I flipped it over and screwed it in right where it was. I then put the prop back in the drawer on top of the bottom drawer, put it back in the battery compartment at the appropriate height, and used a Brad nail hammer through the outside of the nightstand to secure the word prop. On the front of the drawer you can see two small nail holes, I don't mind. To assemble the way I do you will need a few extra tools which I understand most people won't have. I have them all and it worked for me. Seems fun to find out. Hope this helps and it's not too confusing for those in the same situation as mine, it's not exactly a hidden mount. Like I said, I love the castle! It's not a super hard task, there's no way you're climbing into my drawer. Great deterrent and great for kids.
