I had a different style of ice maker that also had a base that you freeze. It eventually died (bought at a $5 flea market) so I looked at different ones. I stopped there. I had some issues with the paddles rotating with the ice instead of snapping. I have contacted the company. After giving them the video, they sent me a replacement ice machine. Based on other reviews I think I had the lemon. Excellent customer service. In addition, this ice machine is almost silent. My other was so loud. The ice comes out great and is easy to add to the mix with a wider opening at the top. I am very satisfied with my purchase and the company's customer service.
