Review on Canon EF 50mm f/1.8 II Fixed Lens - Discontinued by Manufacturer by Seunghyun Nahm ᠌

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Good product for me, no problems at all.

I would like to talk about sore points . Reading reviews about the lens, you understand that everyone who claims that f1.8-2.2 is not working is shamelessly lying. This lens has an absolutely specific application - portrait and product photography, as well as a genre. And in order for f1.8-2.2 to be working, you need to fix your hands and head. I can help correct my hands, namely, these apertures have a very small depth of field, because of this, the shutter speed should be at least 1 \ 160 and shorter, ISO is not recommended to be set above 1600, because inside the chamber noise processing starts to soften the picture, and because of the fact that a small depth of field creates a feeling of a miss. And no less important aspect is the camera itself, amateur-class cameras also affect the final picture with this lens. In short, for me this is an excellent lens with all absolutely working apertures. Correct the hands of the Lord, and the head is already to the doctor. It is not necessary to write badly about what you have not grown up to yet. And also about the fragility of the lens, reading the reviews before buying it, I got the feeling that the lens could fall apart from one look at it. It was already scary to buy, but in real life it turned out that it is quite a strong construction and only the front lens extends when focusing. All you need to do is be careful when wearing or if you put the hood with hooks and don’t take it off. I put 5 for the picture quality and the price of the lens !

Pros
  • Lightweight, small in size, aperture, of course the price!, Pretty tenacious autofocus.
Cons
  • It buzzes when autofocus is working, the manual focus ring is not very convenient, but with some training this drawback is leveled.
