Very high quality and functional switch, link aggregation, great price

What a great switch. I replaced my old version which didn't have a web browser or link aggregation, but I've used it for too many years to remember (I'll keep it as a backup). I bought this switch for its link aggregation feature. I use Link Aggregation to connect my upstairs 1GB devices to my downstairs 10GB network where my servers reside. I also use Link Aggregation to connect my ASUS RT-AC5300 as it supports 5GHz multi-link. I've had great success with Netgear switches (my 10GB switch is…

Great value, complicated but quick warranty service

Update: Netgear support contacted me shortly after my first Revain review and in less than a week I had a working PSU. I added a star to the rating because of the prompt service. ========== This review is for the ProSafe GS108T 8-Port Gigabit Smart Switch. This switch supports LAG on all ports. Mediocre: clunky web interface, a prime example of UI inefficiency. Interface; (2) The "LIFETIME" guarantee is difficult to use if you value your time as Netgear requires the customer to make a TELEPHONE

Well managed, SNMP monitoring, PoE switch.

I've had three of these (non V3) that have been running for quite some time and I'm adding a fourth now. They get hot enough that when you fold them you should add tall sticky rubber feet and maybe put them in the fan's airflow, but that's part of the lack of a built-in fan. I like that we don't need local power for every switch in our house, they all connect through the first port to a central PoE switch that powers each of those switches with about 5 watts. I also configured them with the…

Inexpensive Managed Switch with Intuitive User Interface

When I was looking for a managed switch, I wanted to choose one that offered the features I needed without having an overly complicated user interface. After figuring out how many ports I need, the next decision was to go with a product known for their quality products and simplified interfaces, which is why I settled on the Netgear GS108Tv2. Having used various Netgear products over the years, I've become comfortable with their easy learning curves, and their interfaces are more geared towards

it is better to make the port either trunk or to address it.

I'm giving three stars because it's not Cisco. the configuration is a little strange and difficult to understand, especially if you know cisco ios. This switch allows you to tag a port with multiple VLANs, essentially making it a trunk. Setting up pvid is similar to setting up your own VLAN. but the controls are much more confusing. It's better to either make the port a trunk or access it with a native VLAN and not throw all those confusing variables. it looks like there is no cli but only a…

for example multiple VLAN trunks through one port from another.

If you want to do something remotely complex in addition to dummy switching, such as For example, bundling multiple VLANs through a port from another switch, and then splitting them across multiple ports on that switch, just avoid it and save yourself the hassle. It doesn't work with multiple tagged VLANs on a single port, I can only get it to work as a dummy layer 2 switch with an untagged uplink. It also has a terrible web interface, Netgear's new switches have a better user experience and…
