I bought this despite a negative review because I have had 4 previous Tenda units and had a lot of experience. I was introduced to this brand by a MicroCenter representative when I was having trouble with an expensive Cisco switch. The only reason I've ever had to replace it was to upgrade to take advantage of the higher bandwidth. So far it works great, like all previous ones.

I bought this item because YouTube TV kept buffering my Wi-Fi connection and my modem only had 2 ethernet ports occupied by my security camera and TP Link router. This tiny little block solved the problem in 5 minutes. Now my Smart TV is directly connected to modem port 1 and portswitch 5 is in the other. All devices are working properly and the buffering problem is gone. This product has been great so far.

I bought both the 8 port and 5 port versions and have been using them for a few months now. No issues and throughput seems to be at the level they claim. My internet connection at home normally runs at around 900 megabits per second and I get that speed without the switch and when I go over the switch I don't see any slowdown caused by the switch. I was remodeling my home office and the router is no longer near my computers. Dropped a long Cat5 on my desktop and got enough internet speed, my laptop next to my desktop only got 20Mbps and took forever (downloading work stuff). I ordered this device because it shipped fast, received it in two days, plugged it in and now I'm getting 400Mbps+ for my laptop and desktop. Worked as expected right out of the box.

This item does not require customization. Plug it in and it works. Absolutely no configuration required. You don't need to set any switches or connect through a browser on your computer. It worked perfectly. Just remember that it has 5 ports but 1 is used to connect to the router so you actually have 4 ports available. I needed 2 so it was the perfect item. It's small and inexpensive.

This system works well. Setup is relatively easy. The power cord is quite long. The only downside is the roughly a second delay between what you see on screen and what actually happens. But that's typical of many such systems, as far as I can tell. Image quality is good, night vision works well. I was just playing around with the zoom feature but it seems to be working fine. For the price, this system is worth the money.
