I am an ASE certified mechanic and a Wyo Tech graduate. I also worked on friends' and family's cars on the side. (mostly free) I used this on my 2006 Chevy Silverado that just recently got a Check Engine Light code. I tested it on a 2004 Volvo V70, 2007 Ford F150, 2015 Subaru Outback and 2010 VW Jetta. It was very easy to use. I use it on my Iphone 6. I downloaded OBDCarDoctor from the Apple Store. Plug in the Foseal scanner. Switch on the ignition (not necessarily on the go). Went to Settings on the Iphone then clicked on Wi-Fi. Found Foseal, opened WiFi network and activated link. I opened the OBDCarDoctor application and connected immediately. I found my code and a brief description of the code. Troubleshooting, code reset. Very happy with the results of this product. Came with instructions of 3 possible apps that will work for your Android or iPhone/iPad. By the way, "DashCommand" for $10 is a very powerful, award-winning program. Other free apps are great for reading/clearing engine codes as well as engine speed, temp, oil pressure etc. I ended up buying the DashCommand app. It's worth it. Apps have been updated for free over the years. I like these types of scanners more than portable ones. As soon as you buy a handheld scanner (for a lot of money) you get the latest updates, but after a year or more it becomes obsolete. When I'm working on a friend's new 2017 car, I have to buy a new handheld scanner or pay more money for the upgrade again.
