Might work fine. or not: poor quality and may cause installation problems

As stated in my original review (below), this appeared to be a 5 start product at first. but I was wrong. We ordered two of them. One of these was extensively tested with Windows 10 on an i7 laptop with a USB 3.0 hub (the manual says the device is 3.0 and 2.0 compatible) and worked great, but the second turned out to be crap: although it was just as smooth connected (both directly and through an active USB hub), as with the first, the image quality has not suffered: it looked perfect when stationary, but as soon as you move the mouse a little, the image becomes blurry and starts to shake - as if there is nearby electrical interference from powerful devices. You literally plug in the first one and it works beautifully, and then you unplug and plug the second one back in, and BAM - the picture shakes like it's had 9 cups of coffee every mouse movement, then swap it back in the first of one and everything is fine again. The jitter is negligible - I'd say it jitters by about +/- 1-2 pixels. but it's enough to drive someone crazy. Finally, the device behaves inconsistently on different PCs: on one Windows 10 machine (the original i7 I mentioned) the driver installed itself immediately after plugging it in, while on another Windows 10 machine (i5 set-top box) the device was not installed detected as long as we installed the driver (using the .exe file) from the pluggable site; It's not a big deal, but it's an annoyance that may put off non-technical users and people who expect this device to work on the go and/or in a business environment (imagine proudly offering this during a team meeting adapter to a colleague so he/she can connect to a display in a conference room, only to disappoint him because his PC doesn't see the adapter). What's interesting now is that Windows sees the adapter when this happens. But when you try to update the driver in Windows hardware settings, Windows tells you that it cannot find the correct driver. Who knows, maybe this part is a Windows issue (let's face it - Windows sucks). In any case, I will do without this gadget as far as possible. We kept the first adapter, but obviously we can't rely on it 100% of the time (I'd say literally 50% in our experience). (ORIGINAL REVIEW - NO LONGER APPLICABLE) Does what it's supposed to. Tested with Windows 10: Works equally well via the onboard USB 3.0 port or via a powered USB hub. Installs in a snap and allows you to duplicate or extend your desktop. Highly recommended.
