Review on elago Upgraded AirPods Dust Guard (Matte Space Grey, 1 Set) – Dust-Proof Film for Luxurious Protection & Easy Installation – Metal Shavings Defender [US Patent Registered] by Maria Adams

(less than) a month UPDATE: This has been installed in my AirPod case for just under a month. I put them on without protrusions and in fact the edges were perfect. Now, less than 30 days from now, the bottom is starting to rise. I don't use my AirPods every day and I don't regularly remove or replace them throughout the day. I use them very rarely and when I do I don't constantly pick them up and put them back in. In short, the screen doesn't lose adhesive from overuse. I'm guessing it won't be long before it comes off completely and my $$ is gone. When I emailed elago about this issue, it was ignored. They never replied to my email so I can say the customer service is terrible. Can't recommend them now so I downgraded the stars to 1 because zero wasn't an option. First review: Wow, the reviews are right! This thing is hard to get right. However, I just received it and kept it in its case with a lot of patience and with the help of a lighted magnifying glass. It didn't break like some say. Place yourself in the event with plenty of time and patience! After that, the protective case should be fully seated on the plastic (that's the tricky part) and not hanging down. This is where many reviewers have problems. Any protrusion will scratch the AirPods. I made sure by putting my finger in the holes to fit snugly. Also, I cut the plastic tightly and positioned the protective case with the plastic so it doesn't touch it (as shown in the YouTube guide). That is absolute precision. What juggling! It was easier upstairs. Align the top adhesive side up with the bottom and close the lid. Voila! Fingers crossed that he stays tuned. By the way. it did not affect the case in any way. It closes tightly with a nice click and stays closed. Just install it properly and Apple will do it for you. Check out the YouTube video guys! Elago has a few of these for you to try out. Take your time! As for the dust shields, I don't know if they're just advertisements or something more. I do not distinguish one brand from another. All I know is that I can recommend the Elago protection if you want to believe in the magnet and mud factor. I wasn't sure so I took them just in case lol. I'm only deducting a star because there weren't any cloths to clean the case. Why not? Cheaper guards come with two. After all that has been said, will they be up to the task? Will they stay connected? Time will tell and I'll update if there are any changes.
