Review on ๐Ÿš‚ Schylling Domino Train Set by Victor Garro

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Works fine (with a trick). Best used under supervision.

This is a fun toy especially if you and your kids/grandchildren love dominoes. I read other reviews describing issues so my expectations weren't too high. Usually works well, although sometimes bricks get stuck in the rack or motor, or one of them falls violently, knocking over neighboring dominoes. (Tip: Remove one tile from every dozen or two on a track as you build it to create "firebreaks" that prevent mistakes from prematurely ruining the entire track.) Remember that the main goal of this entire exercise is to keep it simple. Line up dominoes to knock them over. The most important advice I learned from other reviews was to not load the cartridge/rack by manually placing dominoes. Instead, place the loose dominoes on a hard surface (e.g. the ground) and then press on the open/bottom end of each domino stand and it will bounce into the stand and push the other dominoes up. My 4-year-old grandson is quite good at it; It's still too hard for my 3 year old granddaughter, but it's a fun community project. Probably not such a good toy for personal use. I hope you enjoy it as much as we do. (It would be nice if there were more dominoes in the set, or they could be purchased separately; enough for two full stands.)

Pros
  • High test results for grip and durability
Cons
  • Some difficulty
