Works well in various terrain conditions

I live in the suburbs and do a lot of cross country walking, but I need to connect to sidewalks and roadways. I bought them so I can keep going on the trail despite quite a bit of snow. I've used them twice but on different terrain. I can say they have good grip on soft snow, well packed snow and slush. The deepest areas I've used them on are about 4 inches and they work really well. I had a few small slips over muddier stuff, but stopped after a few inches and didn't fall. I also had to cross several bare sidewalks and streets and the metal spikes didn't break (I'm about 140lbs, not sure they would be that strong for a heavier person). They are easy to put on. The back is clearly marked. The rubber upper is thick but stretchy and doesn't even come close to tearing. The Velcro closure at the top helps keep them secure. They also come with a carry case. I did notice small chunks of ice on the lugs, but that didn't seem to affect traction. When you're done and removing them, simply snap them together to remove dirt. I bought these to wear with a US size 10.5 women's trail running shoe and they fit perfectly.
