If you're a frequent traveler, you'll be familiar with hotel machines that produce perfectly crispy waffles every time. This is the 4th home model I've had (first 3 went to the rubbish heap due to poor performance) and so far so good. It's not exactly hotel-worthy, but it isn't. It's also a flop. Love the fact that this machine can cook 2 waffles at once, it makes family breakfasts that much faster. You'll get a beep when it's heating up and a beep when it's done. The kit includes a measuring cup for the dough. just the right size to prevent overfilling. The cooking button has options 1-6. I've made waffles on all settings and they weren't even remotely edible until setting 5. Even setting 6 wasn't crispy enough for me, I ended up on that setting, but left waffles even longer. y 2 options (5 or 6) that work. Also annoying: A small black triangle on the display button shows which level it is pointing to. Would they kill them if they made this thing silver or white for them to see?! I took some white correction fluid and put a small dot on it so it could be seen clearly.
