With the right tool (screwdriver with T-25 head) it can be assembled in about 10 minutes. The fit was good and from the outside it looks like a steal. However, when I turned it on, its squeak was much worse than the knock I was replacing. It was so bad that I immediately put the old one back in. This one was returned - a real shame. In a moment of desperation, I would resort to this product - say, in the middle of summer, my fan is completely out of order and I'm broke. Good price at $40 but definitely not quality.
