Review on πŸ’ˆ Personna DE Double Edge Razor Blades, 100 Count: Precision Shaving at Its Best! by Samuel Reppa

Revainrating 5 out of 5

My favorite blade among men

The more blade reviews you read, the more confused you become. The same blade, praised by some, despised by others. Finding the right blade comes down to trial and error. One of the downsides to most reviews is that the blade is simply being judged by that person with no context or previous use of the blade. You cannot determine if that person's shaving experience or history matches yours. With that in mind, here's my attempt. I find my beard rough, albeit patchy. My skin is very sensitive, especially on the neck. I bought a sample when I started wet shaving. I started with Merkur and then switched to Bic. Both blades were irritating and uncomfortable. I cannot deny that my inexperience played a part in this discomfort. I switched to Derby. This blade turned out to be very comfortable and the irritation disappeared. I knew the Derby was a "forgiving" wood and one of its downsides was the perceived lack of intimacy. I was willing to compromise for comfort. My biggest problem with Derby was the 'quality control'. The blades lacked consistency. I shaved clean on some, but on the next blade it was the other way around. I read about Personna "Lab Blues" and tried it. These blades are called "Lab Blues". They differ from other Personna blades in that the word "Super" is embossed on the face of the blade. Similar Personna blades have an arrow-shaped design embossed on the face of the blade. I tried those too. They lack the comfort of the "laboratory blues." These blades provide the closeness you need without tension or irritation. To be on the safe side, I tested Merkur and Bic again for comparison. Personna blades were much more comfortable and efficient. In the end I was looking for the right blade. I hope this story will help you and you will find your best blade.
