I'm just getting too old to raise my old kitchen friend, my Kitchen Aid Mixer. I've tested cheaper or compact stand mixers looking for the perfect solution, so I was excited to try this Hamilton Beach. It's reassuring when you see a trusted name. It's a lot smaller and lighter than my Kitchen Aid but doesn't feel cheap like many Chinese brands. However, it is not particularly easy for me, firstly it has a very high head. I quickly gave up adding ingredients with a plastic lid. Too much was on the outside and not in the bowl! Even with the lid off, I had to lift the blender head to really get into the bowl and scrape down the sides. The accessories are of quite good quality. Some other unrecognizable brands have accessories that don't look like they're going to last, so that's reassuring, but I still hesitate that the difficulty of using that very tall, narrow bowl will be annoying enough to make me think Old handmade blender, not machine blender! I'm trying to tell myself that I'm not willing to cook three stollen recipes at the same time anymore. No more baking 100 dozen cookies every year! COVID has disrupted regular holiday traditions and we may never have those huge family reunions again now that even grandkids have grown up with their families and had to establish their own traditions throughout the year. So I'll probably be making smaller recipes and this blender will do just fine for that. In summary, we can say that the quality of the blender itself, as well as the bowl and accessories, is good. I'm sure the motor will keep humming all the time. It's attractive, elegant even if you want to keep it on the counter, and easy to clean. He mixes the ingredients well. I won't add additional attachments, but the option is there if you'd like.
