Beautiful Comforter in the Duvets & Covers Category

This is our second wool comforter that we have purchased for our king bed in our California bedroom. Our first blanket (from a French wool mill) was bought for winter weather (we live in upstate New York near the Canadian border) but wasn't made for summer. Now remember that we sleep in an air-conditioned bedroom that is 68-69 degrees in the summer months (65 degrees in the winter months). We found that both of our cotton summer duvets were heavy and didn't breathe well... most nights I tossed and turned and had to keep changing duvets throughout the night because I was either too hot or too cold. We decided to look for a lighter wool blanket to get through the summer months with our air conditioning. It was hard to find a lighter wool blanket but I finally found this one from Ireland which turned out to be a little lighter (don't forget to take our air conditioned environment into account). The price was about the same as our heavier weight rug from France (we consider a good rug an investment). It arrived and we tested it last night... SUCCESS! My husband and I slept very comfortably with this new wool blanket. The blanket looks very nice and doesn't feel like a coil. The green is a beautiful colour, great size and perfect for our California king size bed and the edges are beautifully trimmed (see photo). Of course we need to hold the sheet by the edge of the blanket as it's a little "spiky" near the face (well, it's wool!). Note that this blanket can be washed in cold water, but NEVER put it in the dryer as it will shrink! Our only complaint is that there are small white "bumps" on the blanket's surface in several places...like weaving faults(?) (see photo where I note this). Having just bought the duvet we are not sure of the 'durable' quality but our first impressions are overwhelmingly positive. We recommend this blanket!
