These expensive nails are needed to secure the end of pressure treated lumber in stainless steel hanger brackets. They should only be used in stainless steel brackets, not galvanized ones. For most applications, Z grade zinc fasteners and 16d hot dip galvanized nails or Simpson #10 structural screws are the best choices.
