I'm a true L in women's size 12-14. I ordered XL because I realized it's advisable to order one size larger. Although it fit, it was a little tighter than I wanted so I ordered XXL and it fits perfectly! The black has some shine. I also ordered wine color. I'm 5ft 7in and the longest part is a bit off without shoes. So it will be perfect even with 3 inch heals. It sits right on my belly button. It's very flattering and the ruffles add texture and visual interest. Can be worn with a variety of blouses, t-shirts and cardigans, sweaters and even blazers. I'm happy with them now that I understand the dimensions. And finally, wearing the right underwear is essential as it will show bumps and imperfections. The fabric is nice and soft. It can be worn all year round!
