Durable and the case has raised edges to protect the screen. I've seen many cases without the raised edges that a glass panel absolutely needs to prevent contact with the ground. Also, the straps are thick, not those flimsy plastic cell phone trinkets I've seen on many shoulder bags. I use my iPad in a hanger a lot and this protects and keeps my iPad safe when I need my hands free. It can be pretty hard when you have an iPad, but for me it's comforting and a reminder that I have it. I can't expect other lightweight cases to prevent drops. Finally, too bad the back isn't coated inside with the same silicone as the front, it's just a black plastic backing for the stand, so I just cut two holes in the cardboard for the stand. Hole for camera/microphone on the back and left it as a layer just in case to protect the iPad from scratches. I could just go to the hardware store and buy a small piece of clear plastic sheeting to cover the countertop and use it as a bumper for the back of the iPad / You can just attach some paper.
