Review on πŸ“» Enhanced MP5 Car Player: AMprime 1 Din Car Radio with Advanced 4.1 Inch Touch Screen, Bluetooth, Dual USB, AUX SD, and Bonus Backup Camera by Brandon Havlicek

Revainrating 2 out of 5

Too frequent delay when accessing the SD card.

Haven't installed it yet and probably won't, just tested it on a stand with no speakers to see if the camera works. First, the light on the camera is white, not IR. The camera seems to work well for what it is. Probably enough for a reversing camera. The speed of the SD card reader might be the deciding factor since I bought it to use SD cards. There is a 10 second delay when starting playback from a (full) 2G card. . This increases to 50 seconds for a 32G card (about 16G). This lag occurs whenever it wants to start playing, even if you reverse the car. It displays the message "Reading SD card" or something similar and does not respond. No buttons work and the rear camera doesn't work when it does until it's done with what it's doing. If you back up too many folders and want to re-enter them, this delay will occur again. It's almost unsuitable for using an SD card. Oddly enough, the same card works much faster in a USB adapter. It takes about 9 seconds for a 32G card and about 3 seconds for a 2G card. The delay with a 2G card would be acceptable, but the card size is too small. The device gets quite warm when used on a workbench without speakers connected. I did not measure power consumption. The screen does not have a very wide viewing angle before the image becomes very blurry. It will be a pain when trying to use the camera.
