Review on PrettyGuide Women'S 1920S Sequin Art Deco Flapper Dress With Sleeve by Lori Williams

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Surprisingly surprising!

I bought this dress three days before a 1920’s speakeasy murder mystery. I am 5’ 2” and a size 20 with hips. I was incredibly hesitant about this lurchase but had of course, procrastinated, so beggars couldn’t be choosers, right?! Wow was I blown away by this dress. I ordered the black/black. I wanted the black/gold but they were out in my size (xxxl.) It fit me really well. It was "fitted” and not loose on my body which would have been more in line with the style of that era. However, it didn’t cling to me unflatteringly or anything. The beadwork was all intact although there were a few loose threads on the sleeve and the fringe hem that needed trimmed a bit to even it out with the zig zag pattern- maybe four threads all together. I lost no fringe, beads or sequins from it all night. The dress had a really nice weight to it too and didn’t feel cheaply made. I love the sheer cap sleeves. As a plus sized girl, it made me feel more comfortable to have some camouflage in the upper arm area. I saw one other dress styled like mine but it was burgundy/gold in color. I also saw the long gown style the company offers in champagne/gold and they all looked well made and the ladies looked really stunning. (The long dress may need altered in length if anyone shorter than 5’5” wears it from what I saw. The poor girl was tugging her hem up all night to keep from stepping on it.) In my opinion, this is a decent 1920’s dress for $50 and I can wear it again for another event I am sure. Thank goodness for amazon prime’s two day shipping!

Pros
  • El vestido perfecto para esta ocasion!
Cons
  • The dress may be too loud or ostentatious
