Review on ๐Ÿ›€ Premium Heavy Plush Bamboo Ribbed Bath Towel - Unbelievably Soft, Eco-Friendly, and 3x More Absorbent than Cotton - 56" x 30 by Danielle Rodriguez

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Soft and absorbent, not as green as you might think.

If you like silky towels, then you've come to the right place. After a few washes, the pile and absorbency improved somewhat. Thus, this product provides the claimed properties of softness, softness and absorbency. But beware, if you think this is a 'green' product due to the bamboo content, that's not all. Bamboo serves as a source of cellulose for the industrial rayon production process (search). The standard process for making viscose uses sodium hydroxide (also used in cotton processing) and carbon disulfide to dissolve the pulp, which is then spun into fibers after further treatment with sulfuric acid. The waste from this process must be properly disposed of to avoid environmental damage. So 1 thumbs up for using bamboo instead of pulp but definitely don't think this product is eco friendly. Like everything else.
