Review on Canon EF 50mm f/1.8 II Fixed Lens - Discontinued by Manufacturer by Riko Long ᠌

Revainrating 4 out of 5

I recommend to buy, the product is of high quality.

For about a year I shot on this glass (now I changed it to f1.4, about which I also wrote my review). The picture at the output, given its cost, you can safely put a solid 5-ku. Pleasant bokeh, excellent aperture. Of course, the price is due to the use of cheap plastic, the average quality of the lens assembly as a whole, the "diesel" focusing motor (the sound sometimes frightens him, especially in silence). Focusing is also a problem in some places. As soon as you bought it, immediately bring it for adjustment, you can even not put it on the carcass, by default there will be problems. The manual focus wheel has a large focusing step, which makes manual focus mode not the most pleasant experience. On the other hand, you need to understand that all the "jambs" for such a price are justified by one sentence: "What did you want for such a price?"

Pros
  • Of course the price; image sharpness; luminosity; the weight (?)
Cons
  • Flimsy construction; cheap plastic, focus motor
