I needed a basic cassette deck to record computer MP3 files for in-car playback. This was the ONLY unit that met my HiFi quality needs at an affordable price and size. Its main purpose is to actually convert a cassette to mp3, but my needs are completely opposite. Despite this, the quality of the device is good, as is the sound in headphones or connected to Hi-Fi. This is definitely Hi-Fi quality at a very modest price. To be honest, the glitches and other issues described in other reviews sound like incompetent users and not people who have worked with HiFi gear a lot. Just make sure you get the latest gray USB model (marked as such). Beware of the very low price. It may be an old model (black) and not a gray version with a USB label. The new version has been significantly improved under the hood. Update 2014: The device is still there and it still works perfectly.
