They are nice and bright and I thought I would really like them but when I put them on I had a set that only worked if I didn't close the battery box, so I had to fiddle with it until I could close it and it still worked which was the real trick and the other kit stopped working. Also, I misunderstood the description when it said "Off". / 8 flashes with timer / Steady light: The switch has three positions: Off. left to right and center for timer with 8 lighting modes. I mistakenly assumed that I had a choice: steady light OR flashing mode with timer setting. But stable only in the "on" position, and when using the timer only blink. And it moves between 8 different modes. Some of the modes are nice and flickering, but there's also a blinding strobe effect that would drive me nuts if they were on in my house. Luckily I bought them for my porch so I don't have to look at them all the time. For this to work for me it would have to either offer a constant light when the timer is used or it would have to be left to the user to choose which mode and not every 8 cycles as some modes are pretty awful. So if you don't mind the strobe mode, as well as other flashing modes, or like to manually turn it on and off to have a constant light, this might be perfect for you. If you don't get one that stops working while trying to set it up. Then it's just a rag.
