Was it perfect or was it me

I was very happy with the look of the necklace, it was perfect for my cartouche pendant but after 2 hours I realized it wasn't there and put it on I don't know if I attached it wrong or the chain broke. Very upset about the loss of the cartridge - the next time I buy a chain I will choose it for the reliability of the clasp.
