Review on πŸ”Œ Koopman HDMI Splitter 1x2 - High-quality 4k Aluminum HDMI Video Splitter supporting HDCP2.2, 3D EDID, Dolby Atmos, and DTS-HD by Todd Look

Great value for money for a 18Gbps splitter

This Koopman branded 1x2 HDMI splitter performs well at 18Gbps with a high quality signal . The device is very compact and housed in a robust aluminum housing. The device appears to be more sensitive to the quality of the incoming signal. The KabelDirect HDMI cables worked great (the famous high-end 18Gbps cable), while the Monoprice UHD cable delivered a heavy shower of glitter. With a good quality source output and a good cable, you shouldn't have any problems other than YMMV. Switching the resolution also sometimes requires turning off the power to restore a clear signal, but my signal chain is quite complex. Another limitation is the lack of Audio Return Channel (ARC) support. If you don't use ARC, this is not a problem. For some, however, this can be an obstacle. This splitter uses micro switch based EDID control with 4 preset modes. Fortunately, the 4 modes cover the most common use cases for this device (e.g. cloning a single display's EDID to both outputs, downscaling a single output to 1080p, mixed display functions (using the lowest common denominator approach) and finally one Mode that allows ignores the EDID of the display, allows you to output the maximum number of video and audio formats on both outputs Signal in 4K quality* to 2 LG TVs of different generations, but your mileage may vary due to lower quality signals / marginal cables vary.
