Review on Pokémon 🔥 Charizard Mega Construx DYR77 by Jesse Bailey

I love Pokémon, especially Pokémon itself, and it was very...

I'll be open and honest with everyone. I love Pokemon, especially Pokemon itself, and was really excited about this build as I've only built Lego so far. Since they don't have a Pokemon license, I decided to give it a try. To sum up my experience, I wanted to buy a gyrados, now I will not buy it. The whole process seems wrong. Lego has much higher standards for quality and customer service. Just want to point out: 1. The parts come in what appears to be a random type of package. I say this because assembling the same item would require me to look for different items in different bags. To be honest I didn't understand the packaging criteria at all, it seems that they don't exist.2. Adding to the initial disappointment described above, the bags are not numbered. Again we have to compare with Lego as they compete for the same market and only help you build with numbers and details in the instructions on which bag you should open next. I'm not a builder, and neither are 99% of the end buyers of any brand. I think this part is critical. I looked for instructions on when and which bag to open when assembling and to be honest I really wish it was me, but no, I'm not. 3. Once you get the hang of it it seems worth it as the end product is very well made and detailed. Anyone who's seen it can tell this is Charizard, and that's a good thing. However, when I put the Gyrados set in the shopping cart just thinking about how difficult it was to put this together and just couldn't get around the fact that the Gyrados set almost doubled the number of items, I gave up and forgot it . The Mega Contrux has a long way to go. I thought about giving it a try as they have some interesting builds but after this experience I don't really build a 1000pc Mega Contrux kit. I'm building for fun and demonstration as I'm a working musician and it's just the way I work, so this won't work for me. I ended up wishing Lego would get a Pokemon license.

Pros
  • Buildable environment doubles as a display stand
Cons
  • I'll add later
