Review on 🎧 Black Sony MDR-ZX110 ZX Series Wired On-Ear Headphones by Sang-hoon Lee ᠌

Not a bad product, but you can find better.

Kind of not very expensive headphones, the finish is so-so. For those who like to stand out or show off, I recommend looking for something more creative. They sit on the head easily, they press a little from the sides, when putting on, one feels some kind of clumsiness in the finish. There is no clear marking of the right and left headphones, the letters "L" and "R" are almost invisible. The sound is completely unbalanced, the word "reliability" does not fit these headphones. High frequencies are cut off from the declared characteristics, are reproduced with distortions, even the orchestral instrument "triangles" is practically inaudible at the very top notes, just below the trill of this instrument merges into an unpleasant whistle and only from 9-8 KHz turns into something acceptable. It is clear that the "cymbals" sound crushed and unintelligible, the brushes on the plates do not give the impression of a transparent "sand" - they just hiss. The mids are a bit dry, like in a plywood box. Low frequencies are the most problematic here - they are monstrously redundant at nominal volume, they press, hum and tambourine, they have no articulation - the sound floats and smears. On the drum kit, some of the drums also stick out a lot, all of which is suppressed and drowned out by the bass drum. Conclusion: these headphones are made for listening to primitive electronic music like "boom-thump" or for cheap phones with mp3/128 kbpc files. Also suitable for those who have already lost their hearing in modern discos and have a hard time hearing low frequencies, but at the same time the last remnants of hearing will be reliably destroyed. You can listen to audiobooks, but without musical accompaniment, otherwise the low frequencies will quickly cause a headache. If you listen to, for example, vinyl with a phono stage and a high-quality headphone amplifier with this device, then in your ears you will get a banal mp3 / 128kbpc with a very uneven frequency response. For this money and even much cheaper, you can find more successful headphones of the same type. Since I compared AKG-K701 and Fostex-T50 with my top-level headphones, my assessment may seem too harsh, but hearing is the most expensive, you can’t replace it or buy it.

Pros
  • They fold with a 90Β° rotation of the heads, and at the same time they are made flat like a flounder - can be placed in a flat compartment of a backpack or wardrobe trunk.
Cons
  • Sound. There are serious complaints about both the highest and the lowest frequencies.

The sound quality matches the price. In general, the price / quality suited me, for the needs of the child, that's it.
