Review on Carrier 5KCP39BGS069S Electric Condenser - 208 230V by Jeff Bridgewater

Revainrating 5 out of 5

The engine does its job and saved a lot of money.

This motor saved me about $300 compared to finding a company to replace it. It's been running for almost a month now, it's very quiet and keeps the ventilation and air conditioning working well. For this reason I have to give 5 stars. A IMPORTANT recommendation I have is to take the support studs that go all the way from your existing engine (assuming same model number) and replace them in this engine before you start. I have worked in HVAC for about 2 years and by hand for the last 10 years. During this time I can count on my hands how many times I've broken a bolt (mostly I was careless or rushed with a drill or percussion rifle). During assembly, two screws in the existing round nut broke (tightened hand-tight with a socket wrench). The third broke in the replacement locknuts I got from Lowes (because the screw in the acorn nuts was misaligned I had to buy a replacement). They all broke at fairly minimal torque. Otherwise, this problem lasted 30 minutes to an hour, and that's why it lasted 3 or 4 hours.

Pros
  • Electrical
Cons
  • Slightly torn
