not quite a replacement for my regular vacuum cleaner

I'm a complete idiot because it's kinda fun to watch this little guy travel around doing his thing?! I was very interested in trying out the robot vacuum as we have two cats and wanted to see it pick up the junk they chase out of the box. Overall I'm very happy with this little device, although it's definitely not going to replace my regular Dyson vacuum. This robot vacuum did a good job picking up scattered debris and cat hair and other crumbs and such on the floor. I noticed when I set it to pick up a pile of debris that I was sweeping up that the spinning brushes basically sprayed the pile everywhere, but then ended up picking up most of it. I transition from hard floor to carpet quite a bit and this little guy rides with no problem and also handles most carpeted floors with ease. The setting I've used the most is the edge setting, and while it's not perfect, it sticks to the outside edges fairly well, picking up dust and hair that always seems to collect there. You'll definitely need to empty the dust bin after every cleaning, as this bin is pretty small, but it's pretty easy to remove and empty, so it's not a big deal. The unit was also fairly quiet, a lot quieter than my Dyson upright and small cordless vacuums, so that was a nice bonus. This is mainly used to sweep the house every few days to pick up the little bits around, but I still think I'll have to use my stand up Dyson to do the carpets really well. The price of this unit was so cheap compared to others that I wasn't sure about the performance, but so far I've been impressed and would suggest giving this unit a try if you want to give it a try and have smaller, crumbly bits that you want to collect.

Pros
  • Sleek design
Cons
  • is embarrassing
