Review on 🚰 Deltas RP4993 Black Small Faucet by Anthony Grover

The last time my Delta Monitor 1300/1400 Series Tub/Shower leaked I replaced the entire cartridge with a KISSLER RP19804 Delta Faucet Cartridge but this time I thought better just replace the inner seats and springs to see if the leak stops. It worked like a charm. The two halves of the cartridge simply twist together and move apart a quarter turn. After disassembly, you can easily see the seats and springs and replace them with a new set. There are videos on the Delta website and YouTube showing the simple procedure. I now know I can repair leaks for a fraction of the cost of replacing an entire cartridge. I have also found that a small amount of clear silicone grease on the seats helps reduce wear and prolongs the life of the seats. I also learned that since my first day in this house, the original cartridge had been installed upside down, defeating the whole purpose of these "monitor" faucets, which was to prevent children from scalding themselves with hot water. Watching the video helped me understand, so I flipped the cartridge and now the faucet mixes hot and cold water in a way that eliminates the possibility of scalding.
