Review on Hario V60 Glass Coffee Dripper Size 02 Black - Enhance Your Brewing Experience! by Becky Chopra

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Love it! 8 Edge Carafe Coffee Maker

8/11 has now chipped a piece of glass "inside" the edge area without actual abuse! I have several borosilicate glass items, some of which are actually much thinner than this dripper, and have never broken simply by being placed on a counter and dropped sideways, and I don't have granite counters, just your regular ones! It doesn't look like your borosilicate quality, it should tip/slip onto its side with no damage, especially on the inside. You would think the glass would be chipped off on the outside and cut that way instead. lower rating because it is easy to be broken. I bought it not to use it as it is intended for use. I bought this hoping it would fit my coffee maker's 8cp rimmed carafe so I could stop using the plastic filter basket that came with it and this glass dripper aka my new glass filter basket fits in perfectly and the top stays cool so I can take it out of the carafe without burning my fingers! After reading reviews about the special filter for this dripper, I decided to continue using melitta cone filters instead of buying these special filters. I just bend the Melitta filters a bit on both sides and they stay in place and the crushed material doesn't fall through the larger opening (compared to traditional filter baskets) on this dripper. I have no problem with the large opening on this dripper resulting in the coffee not steeping enough as my coffee maker doesn't continuously pour in all the water for them to steep enough and the bottom of the Melitta filter when it's folded , also helps slow the flow. I wish it was a little lighter, but when I thought it would make it thinner and easier to break, so no, I like this glass "dropper" the way it is.
