When we bought our house, almost all the walls in front of the doors were dented or looked like they had been repeatedly patched. We fixed everything, painted and after laying the parquet, we put it in place of wall panels, bumpers or spring material. The magnets are strong enough to hold the door open and prevent the doors from opening too far and hitting our new walls. Both the vacuum and the Roomba have no problem with this and they seem to stick well so they won't come loose anytime soon. A great addition to our home.
