Review on πŸ’Ž Elizabeth Taylor White Diamonds Perfumed Body Powder: Luxurious Fragrance, 2.6 oz/75 g, for Women by Jessica Frederick

Subtle, light, delicate scent.

What I hate most is anything with a strong aroma. I have a heightened sense of smell and from laundry detergent to hand lotion, I can't stand perfumes, especially flowers. I don't wear perfume or cologne. Due to the summer heat and humidity, I was starting to experience some chafing and discomfort. I immediately thought powder would solve the problem, but I haven't bought it in years. And I knew that few companies do that anymore. I used to love Vanderbilt by Gloria Vanderbilt Powder. The scent was light and so heavenly. It is no longer sold in a large round tube with a luxurious pouf complete with a satin ribbon handle. Now it appears to only be found in a tiny shaker size, with no puff, and only available in a set that includes a matching spray bottle. Sad. Since I don't need perfume spray, that meant Vanderbilt wasn't around. I knew from previous experience that all Yardly fragrances would smell amazing and I hate them. Based on reviews that said White Diamonds have a "delicate" scent, I gave it a try. So ok, I'm not exactly thrilled with this scent, but it's so soft and subtle that it doesn't bother me at all. It has an almost soapy scent compared to a floral or perfume scent. That's a plus for me. The texture of the powder is very finely ground and soothes when applied. As I said, while I may not be as enamored with the smell of this powder as I used to be from Vanderbilt or a discontinued UK import I used to buy, it is so light and unobtrusive that there is nothing unpleasant or offensive. However. I guess I'd say it's a little bit cute, and over time it might even escalate to me. The price is pretty reasonable and I found it to soothe and relieve my chafing problem as I had hoped. The tote is pretty and comes with a pouf, but unlike the Vanderbilt pouf there is no satin ribbon strap to hold the pouf and unlike the Vanderbilt pouf which was incredibly soft, fluffy and oversized, this pouf never could be described as luxurious. If I decide to reorder I can buy a nicer puff to use with this powder. For the price, the included pouf serves its purpose. If you are not a fan of strong or heavy scents I would suggest you give it a try. I am pleased that it has a delicate aroma. UPDATE: I've been using this powder for the third day and I'm liking it better and better. I've been trying for a long time to understand what this scent reminds me of and finally I got it! Smells like Johnson & Johnson No More Tears baby shampoo! The scent is mild but very appealing. Hope that helps.
