Review on πŸ”Œ Portable Blue Wire Stripping Machine: Happybuy Electric Wire Stripper 0.05"-0.98" for Scrap Copper Recycling by Don Wilson

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Nice quiet scraper

A good $185 machine comes with an extra cutting disc. Used it for about two hours and figured it out well. So far I've only used this on August 12 with soft braid and it works pretty well. I have to keep the wire straight so it stays on the blade but works great. I'm curious how a smaller wire would work. But August 12th and up should work just fine. Will update if I use a different cable. It's a bit heavy when not screwed on or attached to a table. A small plant tray under the engine allows you to level the machine. I've read several reviews where the wire sometimes runs behind the fan shroud (pic 2) and this happened to me once. I had to disassemble a few pieces to get the wire off the fan, about a 15 minute detour. I use a plant tray again to protect the wires from repeating. In photo 3 about 30 minutes of work. I didn't weigh it, but it's 1.5 to 2 pounds of copper. (I took my time) The motor gets a little warm after 30 minutes so I turned it off and removed the copper after cutting the insulation. In photo 4 you can see better how the blade cuts into soft insulated wire on August 12th.

Pros
  • High marks for support and durability from testers
Cons
  • I'll add later
