This device uses universal sockets. This is a poor design as it is difficult to properly plug in US 110/120V plugs. In addition, they do not have enough contact when inserted. I think this may not be safe for applications using more than 1 amp. In addition, wide left-hand US plugs do not fit into the device. They offer a matching adapter, but of the pair I received, one of the two adapters was defective. A power plug was loose, which could cause a fire. After dismantling the adapter, I noticed that the plugs only come into contact with the sockets under pressure. This is a dangerous design as these contacts can become loose, which could result in a fire. Do not use adapters. In addition, the unit itself has 2 narrow spade plugs that plug into the outlet, which can be a problem if misaligned. This is a security code. In the USA, this device is only suitable for low power 110/120 VAC devices with both narrow blade terminals.
