Good bumper guard that keeps our stairs safe from pets. I also bought wall washers to hold the gate up better. They were from a different manufacturer and were purchased at the same time as the gate. I could do without them but they are a little bit grippier than the ones that came with the gate. I love the expansions that came with the gate as I needed both. The gate is well made and easy to assemble. I bought the large Northern States Gate to cover the wider opening at the same time I bought this one and love both. This mwker will be my first choice when buying interior doors in the future. I'm thinking of buying 2 more of these to cover other areas. I waited until I tested this one first. One caveat: being a pressurized gate, it can be knocked out if enough force is applied. Our larger dog knocked them over once but unless you use fixed brackets and screw them into the bearing surface that can happen to any gate like this.
