While this is exactly what we were looking for (a simple, lightweight, streamlined USB-C hub for the latest MacBook Pro for external devices with USB 2 ports), it doesn't work properly. When you connect the first external device, everything is fine - you can view all the data, there are no errors. However, when you connect a second device, an error message appears stating that device #1 was not ejected properly and data may have been corrupted. However, device #1 has NOT been ejected and is OK - you can view all data on device #1 and device #2. If you then plug in device #3, you will get two error messages, one for device #1 and one for device #2, stating that they were not ejected correctly. Here, too, you can now view all data on all 3 devices. It doesn't matter which of the 4 ports you use, the errors are constant. We don't know if the built in firmware is actually corrupting the data (we suspect not as we can view the data and in fact nothing was retrieved) but the fact that the problem persists makes us return this hub. We don't trust that.
