5 years ago I bought this gate for my apartment for my 2 year old Bullmastiff who weighed 76lbs and is doing great! I was concerned that just reading reviews of other Gate products, which ended with nightmares that their dogs would easily break through and destroy houses or bite people, wouldn't be strong enough. I searched and compared reviews of about 30 other goals with the same or similar strength/durability and performance. I chose this because it had more positive reviews for the things I wanted and cared about the most at the gate than really bad negative reviews for things I wanted but could handle, assuming they are valid and have not been posted User error doesn't seem to work, difficult to fit, lock is flawed in design, poor instructions etc. Took it home, bought a year later and was glad it fit a much wider door frame without needing an extension, which I never used and was still in the unpacked moving boxes somewhere in the garage. I had a Bullmastiff at the time and ended up getting him a girlfriend and she was 2 months old. It's been about 5 years with this gate that has held up very well against a 7 year old 98 lb Bullmastiff and a 4 year old 48 lb short and stocky APBT. I always wished I had an extra extra gate as my house was much larger and I could always comfortably breed dogs indoors. But I just didn't get it. Today I checked my history and bought another one because my parents have a 9 month old Chiviny who visits me often and I train. She jumps very well with high energy, she jumps and climbs over her gates and can get through some of them because she goes through the bars. She can't climb or jump over it, and she can't go through it. So I'm buying a second one again and I'm so glad it's still in stock and I LOVE THE PRICE! Installation was easy if you carefully read and followed all the instructions. Instructions are included and easy to follow. All parts are included, including the extension, and the latch isn't broken or difficult to operate, even with one hand. Small children also cannot open it as there is a pull and lift function in the latch lock system. The surface held up well to my dogs and showed no scratches or chips from their use. I had to buy new turnbuckles because the rubber molds on the end that attach to the door frame wear out and eventually fall off over the years making them less reliable and also can scratch your paintwork. But I only needed them a year ago and never used them because I accidentally wrapped them up and put the box in the garage with a bunch of other boxes that live in the garage and couldn't find it. So I bought these protective rubber caps to keep the seal tight and protect the paint. See my photos. Neither solution costs much. If you ever need to buy a replacement make sure they are the same length and the correct length as they come in a variety of sizes. The photo in my review shows this gate which I bought 5 years ago so you can see how it is holding up and the rubber caps I use between the turnbuckle and the inside of the door frame.
