Good solution for irritated eczema patches

My poor little 6 mon. My eldest son has fairly severe eczema. We have changed our diet (due to a suspected dairy allergy) and are constantly applying barrier creams. Despite our best efforts it still has some very nasty patches, red, sore and occasionally oozing. After a good cleaning and drying, I apply one of these bandages and leave it on for 3 days. The removal doesn't bother my little one and after 72 hours the rough spot is healing and looking much better. Before that we used wet pads which was inconvenient and bothered me as they would fall off from time to time. These patches don't come cheap, but they're worth it! Be sure to check with your pediatrician before trying it, as not all rashes respond well to hydrocolloid dressings. Also, be sure to only apply to dry skin - if moisturizers/lotions are present they won't stick and you'll lose $1 per bandage.
