Review for: Muin - Solder Extractor When I'm soldering in the garage I usually just turn on the fan and try to blow myself from solder pairs. And it works well in most cases, but it's not the best solution. So I decided to give the Muin Fume Extractor a try...although I was a bit worried about the small size of the unit. As it turned out, despite the fact that the device is compact, the suction power is quite small. I first noticed the power from the unexpected "wind" the device generates when the device is turned on. Then, when I pulled out the old board and started soldering, I could easily see the solder fumes "squeezing" into the block and through the filters. As far as I could tell, there was no noticeable smoke coming from the back of the unit. In terms of volume, I found that while the device wasn't whispering, it was quiet enough to use, especially given the suction power. what the device offers. I found the Muni device to be small enough to stow away and easily carry around and then put back in place when I need to use it. The box is approximately 5 inches wide, 5 ½ inches wide, and 2 ¾ inches wide; This is considered compact for me. I think the device has a very handy feature, an on/off switch built into the power cord; Therefore, you do not have to pull the cable out of the mains plug to switch it on and off. In my test, I found that changing the filter was very easy and straightforward. Use the included lock pick to open the unit and the secondary and primary filters are instantly accessible and easy to change. The unit comes with two additional first stage filters, which is nice. Ultimately, I found the Muin fume extraction system to be a huge plus when soldering. This review was helpful, please click the 'Useful' button below.
