I have tried this stone along with several others for comparison and effectiveness with a 1110GPH air pump. The stone worked mediocre for about three days before becoming so ineffective that it flooded my roots. I have a lot of experience with 4" cylindrical airstones. It's only been three weeks but so far so good with the cylinders in the DWC setup. EDIT: user error. In my review above I didn't consider the physics. Larger cylindrical stones let in more air, and since air follows the path of least resistance, it makes perfect sense that it would let in a lot less air (since I didn't take into account that I added even larger rocks as well). air stones) after a few days. If you choose this stone I believe it will work well if you use similar properties .d (airflow lpm, gph etc.) or reduce airflow for larger stones like in my case.
