This is a functional mount, it is too articulated) and it locks. Some things I like about it: It locks the arm joint with prongs: this prevents the arm from sagging under any weight at that particular joint, which is a problem with most joint locks (which are usually just pressure/friction locks, not tooth locks ) This allows me to easily adjust the position: just a locking knob that doesn't allow me to keep a large, bulky hand on the stand. The clamp is firm: it has a rubber that also prevents slipping, a nice touch to be able to pull it down. However, there is something left to be desired: Setting it up with an external monitor (7 inch) connected is quite cumbersome: I have to hold the monitor with the wrist lock when setting it up, since the ball joints are internal I'm not sure what to say next , but be aware and DO NOT disconnect before removing the monitor/something from your hand or holding it in your hand while making adjustments. The arms are thin: I wouldn't put anything heavy on it, if you put more than a few kilos on it it probably doesn't care, but I wouldn't trust it with a multi-thousand device. In summary, it serves the purpose of adding an external monitor for my cameramen.
