This is my first resin project (I wanted to cast a cicada for my daughter when they were here). I messed up my first two molds, but here's my advice that I took from it: 1. Mix in a separate container and don't do what I did: I tried to shorten this by using resin (A) and Hardener (B) have been mixed into the mold and once the resin has set, do not mix the bottom edges of the mold with the hardener as it will remain sticky and leave imperfections around the edges2. When heating the mixture to remove air bubbles, do not light it as they will "smoke" your mixture (therefore your cured resin will turn an amber color and not the desired transparency effect). I got too close to the mixture and set it on fire.3. When installing your object (we had a cicada), lay the "foundation"/bed and wait about 30 minutes for it to set. And then you set the object up and pour in the rest of your mixture. IOW, don't just pour the mixture expecting your object to float as it will just float to the surface. Wait a full 24 hours before extruding cured resin. By the 12th hour I was getting nervous and the corners of my pyramid were messing up. In fact, the theme is to be patient. .but it was fun and acceptable to my kid.
